Data processing

You may already have conducted fixed assets physical inventories using tools like Microsoft Excel or another software. In which case, you may already have inventory data in digital form that you would like to import into the Inventif software. Inventif has an import functionnality available. Preparatory data processing work is often required to adapt these data to Inventif. This work consists in cleaning up and formatting the data in such a way that Inventif can make use of them.

You can do this work on your own but you can also ask us to take care of it. In this case, we make up a quotation that indicates how many hours we need to carry out the work. In order for us to make the more accurate quotation we can, we need you to give us a representative sample of your data, an estimation of the amount of data, the number and types of files we will have to deal with.

Our work will consist in the following steps:
- data examination;
- extraction of the information of interest;
- data cleaning up and normalization;
- data structuring for Inventif;
- data preparation using Microsoft Excel : XML mapping;
- XML file import into Inventif. The Reconcil software requires two input data files. Each file has to contain a list of records. Each record is described by a list of variables. One of these variables is the reconciliation key. The reconcilation process uses the values that this variable takes to pair records from the two files. A record from the first file will be associated with a record of the second file if those records share the same reconciliation key value. Several records from the first file can also be associated to several records of the second file using this rule.
